Resume

Félix has earned the Telecommunication Engineer degree from the University of Sevilla (Spain) and the Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milano (Italy) thanks to a Double Degree agreement within the T.I.M.E program.

He has developed his professional career in the software domain, starting as a backend developer and progressively expanding his scope into areas such as software analysis, continuous integration, and infrastructure automation. Throughout his career, he has worked in different fields (IoT, telecommunications) and has taken on team management and people lead responsibilities.

Over time, he transitioned from software development to a DevOps and Infrastructure role, with a strong focus on Platform Engineering. He works at the intersection of development and infrastructure, specializing in CI/CD, GitOps, and Developer Experience. His mission is to empower development teams by providing tools and solutions that streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve efficiency, enabling developers to focus on delivering high-quality software with minimal friction.

Work Experience

Work Experience

  • Platform EngineerMindcurv

I design and implement robust CI/CD and DevSecOps processes to optimize development workflows and infrastructure automation. My primary focus has been improving automation processes and enhancing the developer experience (DevEx) by implementing tools, metrics, methodologies, and processes that simplify their daily work.

In this role, I have designed the entire CI/CD and DevSecOps pipeline for a large-scale e-commerce platform with over 50 microservices running on Kubernetes. This implementation has been a success, achieving a high level of developer satisfaction by freeing them from manual deployment and security tasks, allowing them to focus on coding and delivering features faster. The pipeline includes:

    • ✅ Build & Versioning: Compilation (Maven, Gradle, Node) and automated version control.
    • 🔒 Security & Compliance: Static analysis (SAST), secret detection, vulnerability scanning, and container image security checks.
    • 🧪 Testing: Integration of unit tests, end-to-end (E2E) tests, and contract testing with PACT.
    • 📦 Containerization & Deployment: Dockerization, Helm/Kustomize templating, and GitOps-based deployments using ArgoCD.
    • 📊 Monitoring & Observability: Integration with Prometheus for metrics storage and visualization in Grafana.
    • 🌐 API Gateway Configuration: Automated setup of Anypoint Flex-Gateway.

Additionally, I support development teams by optimizing and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments, mentoring engineers, and conducting workshops on DevOps best practices.

    Technologies & Tools:

    • CI/CD tools: GitLab CI, GitHub
    • Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
    • Configuration Management: Helm, Kustomize, KPT, ArgoCD
    • Cloud: GCP, AWS
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform
    • Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana
    • Security & Identity Management: Keycloak

  • Software EngineerSolera

I worked on a backend architecture with more than a dozen microservices powering Solera insurance tools and a mobile application for a well-known truck company.

    👨‍💻 Key Responsibilities:

    • Developed new features and maintained existing components.
    • Fixed bugs and improved performance.
    • Enhanced monitoring and observability across services.
    • Led the migration of services from PCF Cloud to Kubernetes (VMware Tanzu), adapting pipelines and configurations using Concourse.

    🛠️ Technologies: Java | Spring Boot | MySQL | MongoDB | Docker | Pivotal Cloud Foundry | VMware Tanzu | Kubernetes | Concourse | Proget | Git.

💬 Employee Engagement Initiative: In addition to my technical role, I was part of an internal Engagement Group, collaborating with HR to improve employee satisfaction and workplace culture at Solera’s Seville office. In a short time—and during the pandemic—Solera established a new office with 200+ employees, and we worked on initiatives to enhance culture, well-being, and engagement.
